We often focus on the education of our diets, physical health, exercise, and even mental health, but we rarely focus on stimulating our personal growth and development. When we look back on our younger years of early education, we see that we are taught reading, writing, arithmetic, home economics, history, biology, and many other studies that equip us for higher education and adult life. But where did the education of personal growth and development go? Stifling personal growth affects our overall well-being and our careers.

Here are five tips you can use to stimulate your personal growth, so you can live life to its fullest.

1. Listen to audio

Many of us have a favorite radio station and enjoy listening to music. Try adding just 30 minutes of educational audio a day to leave you feeling strong and inspired.

2. Read books

In this day and age of modern technology it may seem like books have become lost or forgotten. “The Alchemist” by Pablo Coelho and “The Way of the Peaceful Warrior” by Dan Millman are books that share journeys of personal development through fictional stories and are available in audio formats as well.

3. Find a mentor

Look for someone who inspires you and is already where you want to be in life. If you are able to, don’t be afraid to talk with them, share your aspirations, and even ask them questions.

4. Write

Writing can help clear our minds and help us focus. You might want to write about personal conflicts, desires, aspirations, career goals, or financial goals, to name a few.

5. Develop a support group

As people grow and evolve, it’s only natural that some people will change with us and some people won’t. Surround yourself with like-minded people who share your way of thinking, and you will find yourself flourishing in ways you may have never before.
